What are Cherry Angiomas?

Cherry angiomas are common skin growths that can develop on most areas of the body. The benign growths are often circular and range from the size of a pinpoint to about one-fourth of an inch in diameter.

Some cherry angiomas appear to be smooth and even with the skin, while others are raised. Their bright red or purple color is caused by blood vessels within. They are usually genetic and can increase in size and number with age. An estimated 50% of adults develop this condition after age 30.

Cherry Angiomas Treatment

Cherry angiomas aren’t harmful and are easily treated. Dr. Kingsley usually recommends one to two sessions of laser therapy to remove the skin growths.
