What is Keratosis Pilaris?

Keratosis pilaris is a common skin condition that causes dry, rough patches due to the buildup of dead skin cells clogging hair follicles.

The condition is genetic and often presents itself as patches of rough, pink bumps on the skin typically found on the back of the upper arms and on the front of the thighs.

Keratosis Pilaris Treatment

Dr. Kingsley recommends her patients gently exfoliate their skin with over-the-counter glycolic acid and lactic acid moisturizers and scrubs. It is also important for individuals with keratosis pilaris to focus on rebuilding their skin barrier with ceramide-containing moisturizers and body washes. SkinTherapyMD Anti-Aging pads and serum have been helpful for Keratosis Pilaris as well.
