What is Perioral Dermatitis?

Perioral dermatitis is an acne-like rash that most often occurs around the mouth. This skin condition is often triggered by using topical steroids, changing toothpastes and certain cosmetics.

It presents as a red or skin-colored acne-like bumps and may result in an itchy or burning sensation.

Perioral Dermatitis Treatment

Treatment for perioral dermatitis includes working to identify the cause of the rash. This process includes eliminating specific personal care products. In some cases, Dr. Kingsley also prescribes non-steroidal topical medications and oral antibiotics.
